What is Sugaring?

Dating back to ancient Egypt, sugaring has been considered the most effective, natural form of hair removal. Sugaring is a gentler, healthier alternative to waxing that leaves your skin soft, smooth, and hair free. We use just three all-natural ingredients: sugar, lemon, and water. That’s it. No harsh chemicals or dyes.

Our most popular service is a Brazilian, but we can sugar anywhere on the body (except eyebrows).

Sugaring vs Waxing

Buckle up, this is a long list of why sugaring is better than waxing. Want the quick overview? Sugaring is cleaner, healthier, gentler, and less painful than waxing.

Sugaring is as sweet as it sounds. Our sugar paste is made from all natural ingredients, no additives or dyes here. It's flicked quickly in the direction of hair growth which means less breakage leaving you with a longer lasting result and fewer ingrowns. Over time regular sugaring leads to slower and finer hair regrowth, and each time gets easier.

Sugaring steers clear of these waxing woes: Wax often contains harsh chemicals and dyes (especially the blue ones), is applied at a hotter temps (can cause burns), gets pulled in the opposite direction of hair growth (causes breakage and ingrowns), less hygenic (double dipping sticks), and can leave you with lingering burning sensation or irritation.

The Sweetest Way to Smooth

Shaving or waxing can cause irritation, ingrown hairs, and razor bumps.

Fewer Ingrowns

Sugaring removes hair in the natural direction of growth (the opposite of waxing which removes hair against the natural direction of growth) preventing ingrown hair.

Hello Hygienic

The sugaring process doesn’t involve sticks or strips, so there’s no need to worry about the possibility of “double dipping.” Each ball of sugar paste is only used for one client and is discarded after a single use.

Bye Bye Burns

Sugar is applied at skin temperature ensuring you never get burned, unlike wax which is applied at a higher temp and cause cause lingering burning and irritation.

SUGARING HAIR REMOVAL FAQs

Everything you’ve ever wondered about our signature sugaring services:

Sugaring is an ancient Egyptian hair removal technique that uses a water-soluble sugar paste to extract unwanted hairs. Pretty, sweet, huh?  A Sugarista (a SUGARED + BRONZED licensed, female esthetician) applies the sugaring paste against the natural direction of hair growth and then uses a gentle flicking motion to remove hair in the natural direction of the hair growth.

Sugaring removes hair in the natural direction of growth, which is the opposite of waxing (which removes hair against the natural direction of growth).  According to Web MD, removing hair in the natural direction of growth can also help to prevent ingrown hair.  In addition, the sugaring process doesn’t involve sticks or strips, so there’s no need to worry about the possibility of “double dipping.” Each ball of sugar paste is only used for one client and is discarded after a single use.  Lastly, sugar warmers only heat sugar paste to a lukewarm temperature (at maximum heat), unlike wax which is often heated to higher temperatures and poses the risk of a burn.

For best results we recommend that hair is at least 1/8” long.  This would be about 14 days since your last shave or 1 month since your last sugaring or waxing session.

Lemon and water. That’s it. Seriously.

Right now we only provide Brazilian and bikini services to women. However, we do offer sugaring for men’s backs, chests, arms, and legs!

Yes! The sugar paste is a biodegradable paste and the sugaring process doesn’t require application sticks or strips.

We do not recommend body sugaring within 6 months of taking Accutane. We also recommend that you wait at least 1 week after using a topical product with retinol (on the area you intend to have sugared) before you get sugared.

Menstruating does not affect the sugaring process, although please keep in mind that females are often more sensitive to pain both immediately before and during their monthly cycle. If you want to get sugared during menstruation, we require that you use a tampon during your sugaring session.

Absolutely. Actually, we recommend it. The exfoliation and lack of shaving (especially if you get your legs or arms sugared) will help a spray tan last longer.

Clients must be over 16 to receive a Brazilian service. Clients under the age of 18 require a parent/guardian present at the time of the waiver signing.
