CCPA Compliance

Effective date: January 1, 2020. Last updated: June 2026.

At Sugared + Bronzed, we respect the privacy of California residents and comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”). This page summarizes your California privacy rights and how to exercise them. For full detail on the information we collect, how we use and share it, our retention periods, and our financial-incentive programs, please see our Privacy Policy.

Who this applies to

The CCPA grants privacy rights to California residents. If you are a California resident, you have the rights described below regarding the personal information we collect about you.

Personal information we collect

We may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers — name, postal address, email, phone number, IP address, and account login credentials.

  • Commercial information — products and services purchased or considered, appointment history, and membership status.

  • Sensitive personal information and consumer health data — skin conditions, allergies, or medications collected via intake forms for service safety, and information about the services you receive. We do not sell or share this information and do not use it for targeted advertising.

  • Internet or network activity — browsing behavior on our website, cookies, and pixel interactions.

  • Geolocation data — approximate location derived from IP address.

  • Inferences — drawn from the above to reflect your preferences and characteristics.

How we use and share your information

We do not sell your personal information for monetary value. We do share certain identifiers (such as your name, email, and mobile number) and online activity with advertising partners like Google and Meta for cross-context behavioral advertising, which California law treats as “sharing.” You can opt out at any time (see below). We do not sell or share your sensitive personal information or consumer health data, and we do not use those categories for targeted advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 without opt-in consent.

Your rights under the CCPA

  • Right to know — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes for collecting it, and the third parties with whom we share it.

  • Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.

  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.

  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing and targeted advertising — opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising via our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.

  • Sensitive personal information — we use sensitive personal information only for the purposes permitted under the CCPA, such as providing your services safely. Because we do not use or disclose it for other purposes, we are not required to offer a separate option to limit its use.

  • Automated decisionmaking — we do not currently use automated decisionmaking technology that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.

  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

Global Privacy Control

Our website is configured to recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser or device.

Financial incentives

We offer programs that may be considered financial incentives under the CCPA — including memberships, our Refer a Friend program, and email/SMS sign-up offers. The material terms and our good-faith estimate of the value of the information involved are described in the Financial Incentives section of our Privacy Policy.

How to submit a privacy request

Because we operate physical salon locations, we provide more than one method to submit a request to know, delete, or correct:

We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days, as required by law. If we need additional time, we will notify you of the extension. We will verify your identity before processing your request.

Authorized agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a CCPA request on your behalf. We may require written proof of the agent's authorization and may verify your identity directly.
